Farmer Teds Philosophy
A healty soil guarantees a healty product. Healthy products need less chemicals. The use of less chemicals leads to more natural products and that is just what farmer Ted offers the market: High quality and healthy celeriac with a natural fresh flavour.
Situated in the North Western part of the Netherlands, close to the North Sea, lays the Dutch polder Schermer. Largely situated below sea level, this ground provides ideal conditions for growing celeriac. The typical climate and the soil, which is rich in minerals, give celeriac from this Dutch polder its wonderful taste. Thanks to a compost, produced according to his own method, farmer Ted is able to grow his celeriac with a minimum of additional fertilisers.
In order to prevent damage to the natural organism in the soil and to guarantee uninhibited growth, farmer Ted uses GPS controlled tractors and wide-tread machines, designed by himself. He uses these machines growing celeriac, potatoes and cereals as well as for other vegetables.
